Description
Join us for a compelling installment of our Winter Lecture Series with “The First Winter Texans,” presented by Pam Stranahan, on Monday, January 12th, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. This insightful lecture examines the earliest Winter Texans, Native American communities who practiced seasonal migration long before the term “Winter Texan” existed. Pam Stranahan explores how Indigenous peoples adapted to climate, coastal resources, and changing seasons, offering a deeper understanding of how these early patterns of movement shaped Texas history and its maritime and coastal regions. The presentation will be followed by a Q&A session, providing an opportunity for thoughtful discussion and audience questions. Admission is free, with donations gratefully accepted. Attendees can enjoy coffee and light refreshments, generously provided by H-E-B and Duck Blind Coffee, whose sponsorship helps make this lecture series possible. Spend your Monday lunch hour learning about the original Winter Texans and the enduring legacy of Native American history in Texas.
