Description
Continue our Winter Lecture Series with an intriguing look at early exploration and ambition in “LaSalle,” presented by Glenn Dives, on Monday, February 9th, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. This lecture explores the story of René-Robert Cavelier, Sieur de La Salle, and his ill-fated expedition along the Texas coast—an event that left a lasting mark on Texas and maritime history. Glenn Dives will examine La Salle’s journey, its challenges, and its significance within the broader context of European exploration and colonial competition in the Gulf region. A Q&A session will follow the presentation, offering attendees the opportunity to ask questions and engage with the speaker. Admission is free, with donations gratefully accepted. Enjoy coffee and light refreshments, generously provided by H-E-B and Duck Blind Coffee. Join us for a compelling lunchtime lecture that delves into one of the most dramatic chapters of early Texas history.
