SUMMARY:A Special Day For You - For Survivors of Hurricane Harvey
DESCRIPTION:A Special Day for You \n\n~ Made especially for survivors of Hurricane Harvey ~\n\nFood and drink provided. \nAbout Matt \n\nMatt Deighton is a survivor of the EF5 tornado that wiped Greensburg\, Kansas off the map on May 4th\, 2007. Matt became the Volunteer Coordinator along with his Dalmatian\, Molly. The pair greeted over 14\,000 volunteers\, and later traveled to disaster sites around the United States including AR\, TX\, OK\, NY\, IA\, GA\, with Matt traveling to Newtown CT\, and Sendi Region of Japan. Matt's ability to capture the audience with his travels\, and experiences of disasters delivers a "pay if forward" message that everyone will take home with them.\n \n\nThe 45 minute program finishes with Q & A. People who attend will examine their life for what not to expect. Matt shares his personal experiences dealing with death\, care giving for his elder parents\, and the events of losing everything by an EF5 tornado. Matt talks about the four things the tornado could not take from him. The clothes off his back\, his Mom\, his Dalmatian Molly\, and his faith in God. You will laugh along with Matt as he describes working with different religious organizations that came to volunteer in Greensburg. \n\n\n\nGreensburg's statistics are breathtaking\, and Matt delivers them in a unique way that everyone can relate to. \n\n\n\nHis children's book Molly and the Tornado has earned Matt to become a noted author. Matt and Molly have walked the Red Carpet at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York City for a featured documentary film titled: New York Says Thank You the Movie. The pair have also been seen on American Pickers where Mike and Frank visit Greensburg in July of 2013. \n\n\n\n"It always amazes me how many people come up to me after I speak and share their personal stories. I can relate to what Aransas County has gone through and I can help." -- Matt\n \n\n@RockportFultonChamber
