(Rockport-Fulton, Texas) Winter Texans are a vital component to Rockport-Fulton?s Economy. Community organizers can't imagine what the months of January, February and March would be like in Aransas County without the Winter Texans.
To show appreciation, all Winter Texans are invited to the 4th annual Winter Texan Appreciation Day 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, January 29 at the Fulton Convention Center on Fulton Harbor in Downtown Fulton, Texas.
Winter Texan Day will be a fun-filled day with live music, bunco, bingo, games, karaoke, food, information booths and presentations, raffles and so much more! The Rockport-Fulton area depends on Winter Texans to boost its economy during the first quarter of the year. There are approximately 5,000 Winter Texans. They impact the Rockport-Fulton economy by their purchasing of food, gas, supplies, etc. and through their countless hours of volunteerism.
"The Winter Texans are active volunteers for many of our non-profit organizations, they join our churches, attend our events, enjoy our local attractions, eat at our restaurants, gas up, etc, this is just our way of showing our appreciation," explains Diane Probst, President/CEO of the Rockport-Fulton Chamber of Commerce.
Winter Texan spending is felt in direct and indirect ways throughout the community. This direct and indirect spending is experienced when the dollar, generated by the influx of Winter Texans, circulates through the economy several different times keeping the economy flowing and healthy. There are more than 6,000 RV spaces and more than 2,500 overnight rooms available for the Winter Texans coming to the Rockport-Fulton area.
