Town of Fulton to hold Official Grand Opening of Fulton Fishing Pier
Fulton Texas (October 22, 2021) – The iconic Fulton Fishing Pier will hold its official Grand Opening with a ribbon cutting on Saturday, October 30 at 1 pm. The public is invited and encouraged to attend.
The original Fulton Pier was destroyed by Hurricane Harvey in 2017. The new pier was rebuilt with the help of FEMA and the Texas Parks and Wildlife Management. It has been open to the public since January of this year, however this event will mark its official opening. “This project marks the final step for our town in recovering from Hurricane Harvey, and we are excited to share this beautiful treasure with our citizens and visitors.” Said Kelli Cole, Mayor of Fulton.
The Fulton Fishing pier is one of the most popular fishing piers along the Texas Gulf Coast, as noted by avid fishermen across the state and beyond. The 1200-foot pier is equipped with LED green lights for night fishing. The pier is also ADA accessible and is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
To fish from the pier, one must have a fishing license and pay a $5 per pole fee. Bait, snacks and drinks along with T-shirts & Accessories may be purchased on the premises.
