(Rockport-Fulton) Founded in 2000, Geocaching HQ is dedicated to inspiring and enabling adventure, exploration and community through a unique combination of outdoor recreation and location-based technology. The game's passionate community of millions of players use the Geocaching® app and GPS-enabled devices to find cleverly hidden containers called geocaches and share their experiences with others. Today, there are more than 3 million geocaches in over 190 countries.
The Rockport-Fulton Chamber of Commerce Tourism Development Council is engaging community members to assist them in the coordination of approximately 35 well outlined and clever geocache sites. If you are interested in becoming involved, serve on the committee or just assist in making it happen, please come to a meeting at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 31 at the Chamber Chairman’s Honor Hall at 319 Broadway St. Rockport, TX 78382.
“We are excited to be developing this fun and exciting tour for our community,” said Sandy Jumper, Vice President of Marketing and Promotion. “This is a great opportunity for visitors and residents to enjoy the outdoors. We have really worked hard to make each site interesting and unique,”
