10-Week Rebuild Texas Carpentry Training Program OFFERED IN ROCKPORT
(Rockport) Del Mar College and Rebuild Texas Continuing Education Program form a Memorandum of Understanding with Hands of Hope Organization at the First Baptist Church in Rockport for Carpentry Training, Blueprint Reading, Construction Tools and Techniques and Framing and General Construction.
It’s a 10-week training course offered to anyone in the Coastal Bend and surrounding areas.
The Program begins May 20, 2019 with the foundation for Safety. Students kick-off the program taking Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), a 30-hour Construction Certification course that will teach students the skills, knowledge, and the safety or health hazards encountered on construction projects. Upon completion of the OSHA 30 Certification Course, students will transition into Intro to Blueprint Reading which is a concurrent course, running with the 10-week training program. Students will also take two other courses; Intro to Carpentry, and Framing & General Construction. Upon completion of the Carpentry Training Program, students will be ready for employment into the Workforce as an Entry-level Carpenter and can be referred to contracted employers for hire.
This courses will be held at 1515 N Live Oak Street in Rockport, TX 78382. All interested are encouraged to register and please be on site ready for class by 7:45am.
“It is so important that we improve our skills in the Coastal Bend. Through the help of Rebuild Texas and local organizations such as Hands of Hope, we can get this done,” said Cyndi Powell, Executive Director of Hands of Hope.
