Leadership Aransas County (LAC) Alumni Association will host a Candidates Panel & Issues Forum consisting of the contested races in the Local Primary Election.
Join us for the Candidates Panel & Issues Forum and get answers to your questions. Each candidate will have a 3 minute opening statement. Audience will ask a question to a specific candidate and candidate will have 1 minute to respond to each question.
The forum will open with presentations on the issues selected by the LAC Alumni Executive Committee. The issue selected for this forum is an update on the upcoming School Bond Proposal from Dr. Joshua Garcia, Superintendent of Schools.
In the Candidates portion of the forum, each candidate will have a three-minute opening statement that describes their platform. Audience will submit a written question to a specific candidate and the candidate will have one minute to respond to each question. Opposing candidates will be given one minute for a rebuttal. At the end of the evening each candidate will be given one minute for a closing statement. The seven candidates in the primaries in Aransas County include: Aransas County Judge (Judge Burt Mills, incumbent and Ray Garza, opponent), Aransas County Commissioner Precinct 4-4A (Carolyn Smith and Robert Bob Dupnik, Republican and John M Battiato (Democrat) and Aransas County Clerk (Christy Gibson and Misty Kimbrough)
Paulo Salazar is the co-anchor of KRIS 6 Sunrise and a feature reporter for the station.
He joins us from Tallahassee's ABC affiliate WTXL ABC27, where he served as the station's primary Evening Anchor.
Before making his way to Florida, he spent 6 years in Columbus, Miss., bringing the latest news to the Golden Triangle area. During his time with WCBI News there, he performed a number of duties including Senior Reporter, Weekend Anchor and ending his time as the stations Primary Morning and Noon Anchor.
Paulo earned his Bachelor's Degree in Broadcasting from Mississippi State University and is proud to be a Bull Dawg.
He's a Texas native born in Corpus Christi but raised in San Antonio. After being away from the Lone Star State for almost 18 years, Paulo is glad to have made it back to the place he calls home.
Paulo has spent more than a decade as a journalist and enjoys bringing the community he serves the latest in Breaking News and the stories impacting those around him.
In his free time Paulo enjoys the beach, fishing, live music, watching his MSU Bull Dawgs and rooting for the San Antonio Spurs and Dallas Cowboys.
